Why would gallstones cause pain if not in the duct?
I have 2 gallstones, floating around in my gallbladder. Ultrasound shows they are not in the duct and there is no inflammation present. Can there mere presence cause pain? Doesn't the gall bladder contract, which would squeeze the stones whether or not they are in the duct?
My doc scheduled surgery to have gall bladder removed, but I'm confused at where the pain is coming from since it's not in the duct and there is no inflammation.
