Gall Bladder Pain Archives

I had an ultrasound done yesterday and have gall stones. They are not real pain full and my gallbladder itself had no inflammation on around it. What are the pro's and con's of keeping it or having it removed.

I had an abnormal billirubin (or however you spell it) on my Liver function test.It was a tiny tiny bit higher than it should be. My doctor said something about the gall bladder. If it goes any higher this next time I get a Liver function test than we have to do tests for "other things" That was 5 weeks ago. I'm getting the test tomorrow.

I'm a bit concerned, could it be something else?

I know that sounds totally ludicrous, but someone I know is claiming that exact malady and I want to know if any practitioners would have input on this. This person allegedly spent the last few days in the hospital just from being run down, not in pain, and the doctor told him he had a gall stone condition except without the stones and now his gall bladder needs to be removed.
UPDATE - sorry, I didn't mean to put this in the cancer section. Not sure how that happened. My apologies, but if anyone does know the answer, I'm curious.

I was just told I have large gallstones. I have had these symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome for the past 9 months, and I just wonder if the gall stones are really what was causing my problems. I would eat and then suddenly food was too rich and I'd get crampy and then have an urgent bowel movement- usually diarrhea. I would also get shaky, like tremors, and sometimes chills and nausea.

Have any of you had those sort of symptoms with gall bladder issues? Did it resolve after having it out?

I have had 2 attacks within the last month and had a consultation to talk about surgery to remove my gall bladder. I want to make sure I am making the right decision. Can you eat a low fat diet and control the attacks or do you have to get your gall bladder removed?
